I want to make hot chocolate for my babies every single day. Especially today, since it is supposed to get down to the 30′s tonight and tomorrow’s high temperature is supposed to be 45. This is Florida! It isn’t supposed to be cold here. Even so, I love the cold. Great excuse to bundle up and stay cuddled together at home. Exactly where I always want to be.
As far as hot chocolate goes, I never used to like it—those packets are full of chemicals, each little packet creates so much waste and they just don’t taste good. I looked (again) to the Pioneer Woman for advice and like usual she didn’t fail me or the kids.
For a grown up version, we added a little bit of Bailey’s Irish Cream. Yum!
Ingredients
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- whipped cream (optional, but essential)
Instructions
- 1) Heat up the milk in a saucepan, stirring regularly, being careful to not let it boil.
- 2) Right before a simmer, add the chocolate chips and stir until they are melted.
- 3) Divvy up the milk between three cups and top with whipped cream!
